Over the past few weeks, Ireland has really enjoyed looking through all the different toy catologs we have received in the mail. She spends hours just looking through all the different girl toys. Now that she has discovered a whole new world, she just can't get enough of it. She has one particular page she goes to every day. Here is a picture of her with her toy book.
I always knew McDonald's food could be deadly, I just did not think the actual resturant would actually hurt our family. After doing a little shopping with the boys, we decided to treat the boys to lunch at McDonalds. While the boys were eating, Harrison was standing on the bench and goofing around (Like he normally does). Suddenly he lost this balance, slipped, and hit his head on the metal window seal. At first he just started crying, when I looked at the back of his head, there was a lot of blood coming out. He had cut open the back of his head about 1 inch long and a few centimeters deep. So lunch was canceled and we had to rush him to an urgent care center next to McDonalds. We were told "they do not treat kids" so we had to find another location. The center recommended a new hospital especailly for kids about a 3 blocks from our house. We were lucky because it had just opened on Friday the 7th Nov. So the family spent 2 hours in the waiting room and exam room. Harrison was a very brave little boy. They were able to close the cut with only three stitches. Everything is fine and Harrison is doing great. I just don't think we will be eating at McDonalds or any fast food place any time soon!Today is Jenny's Birthday (My Sister) and Tomorrow is Yo's Birthday (Monique's Sister)!

Here is Ireland and Keean at a metropark called Wegerzyn. They have a lot of flower gardens and pathways for the kids to go through. They have a great children's area with a huge pond with fish and lily pads and bridges to go ove the pond. There is a water fall, a cave, sand tables, mazes for them to go through and great places for picnics. This was one of my favorite places to go this summer!

So this is how little girls play! I never knew....Ireland and Emrie get to play together quite often because of our date night group, but one day they were playing and I had my smells out and they just sat and smelled and shared....like...ooh this one's good, smell this one! They played like that for quite some time.
Ireland discovered coloring! I'm so excited that she has found her artistic side :) Keean and Harrison noticed it and told me. They were very helpful and whipped out the spray bottle with "cleaner" in it and started wiping it away. Unfortunately, we have flat paint so it didn't really wash away. We'll probably have that there until we decide we need to paint. I really haven't felt a need for painting since we painted all of our house in Syracuse :)
These are some friends of ours who just recently moved from Syracuse, utah to Springboro. They left all of their family to come here too and wanted someone to share their halloween tradition of decorating Halloween cookies. I'm not so sure I'll do that again. I ate way too many of those darn sugar cookies. They were delicious! It was fun and I'm sure we will do it again! Fawn Holbrook is the mom, and Morgan is Keean's friend and Harrison's "girlfriend" :)
About a month ago one Sunday afternoon we decided to go Geocaching. Geocaching is where people have left surprises, little trinkets, little notes etc at specific coordinates. The people who place things for geocaching have to register the site on line. People who are interested in looking for geocaching sites then go online to get a list of ones that are close to their area or wherever they want to visit. Then you hop in the car, plug in the coordinates and let the GPS guide you to your destination. The kids thought this was GREAT! It was a modern day treasure hunt! When we finally found the "treasure" the kids were thinking there would be some money, gold coins, something of worth :) Instead we found an old GI Joe figure, a bent up card and a sticker :) Well...it's all about the journey, not the destination, right? Of course they wanted to do more. The rule of geocaching is if you take something from the site, you have to replace it with something else. Jamie and I felt it would be a great idea to leave pass along cards for the church when we go. Hopefully we can get a hold of some so that we can start placing them. that was a fun afternoon.
Here is Aedan with his birthday cake and some of his friends. It was a bit chilly that day. In fact it was threatening rain and there was a little lightning when we first started the party, but none of the kids complained. One of Aedan's friends, though did ask if we could have music at the "pool party". Gees what was I thinking...no music! I guess the kids are getting older and would like that kind of stuff :) I'll remember it for next time!

One of the first things my family did when we got to Utah was to go downtown with my sister, Yolanda and her family, my brother Pieter and his family, and Oma (my mom). We love to ride the lightrail system into town (the trax) and then walk around the Gateway. We stopped in at the Clark Planetarium and saw a lot of neat things there. Then we were off to the fountains in the middle of the Gateway Plaza. They even had some music playing that the kids really grooved to while they were cooling off in the almost 100 degree weather!
