We did the best we could to even include our own Jefferson statue (AKA Han Solo). Aedan took it to school on Friday and wore it during the parade of hats. He said it went over really well but Aedan thought it the heavyest hat in his class. All of the other kids in the class really liked his creation! I am not sure who had more fun, Aedan or me!

The Jefferson Memorial Hat
This past week, Aedan had to do a report on the Jefferson Memorial. He had to research the memorial, fill out a few pages of standard questions, then he had to create a hat that depicts the memorial. So Monique left this big project to me to help Aedan complete. So, you know me, I do not do things small and simple. So off to the craft store we went and we created our own Jefferson Memorial.

Amazing Monique!!
I am amazed at how much Monique is able to do with all the kids demand of her. This past week Monique made her famous hamburger buns. What normally takes a few minutes to do, took well over an hour because all three of the younger kids had to help and get involved. I just had to stand back and laugh! Monique does such a great job with the kids, laundry, dishes, and everything else she does. The three little kids sure keep her busy each day. No wonder why she falls asleep as soon as the kids go down.

Here is a picture of the kids "helping" Monique with dinner.

The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock!!!!

This morning I was sitting at the computer, when I noticed a very interesting event taking place outside. Thousands and Thousands of birds where flying around our area and landing across the street in the YMCA Soccer field. It was very crazy and last well over a hour. My first thought reminded me of the 1963 horror film The Birds directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The boys went outside and looked but we decided it might be better to watch from the house!!! Lets just hope they stay in the sky and don't start dropping to the ground! Here are a few pictures and a video of the attack!! :)

Harrison's Halloween Party
Here's Harrison at his parade. They started the parade about five minutes early and not all the parents got to see their children so the kindergarteners and first graders got to go around the school twice. It was quite a fun parade. Harrison wouldn't wear that hood of his dragon costume for me, but he would do anything for Mrs. Hathaway! I had a friend watch Keean and Ireland after the parade so I could help in his class with his party. It was fun to see how he interacts with the other kids. He will do anything for Mrs. Hathaway! He's such a great kid, but of course, I am biased :) Keean also was in the classroom for a little bit before the parade and he listened to instructions with the other kids and answered questions and paid attention. Mrs. Hathaway said he was ready for Kindergarten :) He's such a great kid too huh? AS the days events went on, we went to Aedan's school to see his parade. I had bought Aedan a black shirt with a jack-o-lantern on it (that was his costume). We're walking up to watch the parade and they had started five minutes early too! I guess we should have synchronized our watches because I missed the second graders! So I don't have any pictures of him at the parade, of him trick or treating, but he did go to a Halloween party that night which was the highlight of the school year! WE have pictures of that we have to develop. But he came back home just raving about how fun it was! He got to go to a party at night, outside without any parents with him! That by itself is pretty cool right? WEll now Halloween is gone and on to the next great holday where we get to look for ward to seeing family! The kids are checking off their calendar the days until everyone comes to town!
Halloween Time
Here are the kids the night before Halloween getting ready to go trick or treating. Because Halloween was on a Friday this year, they didn 't want trick or treating to interfere with High School football games, so they moved trick or treating to Thursday night instead. "They" said it was better this way so that kids wouldn't be staying out till all hours of the night on the weekend causing trouble. The kids didn't care. They were just happy to go out trick or treating. We had some friends come with us because they live in the country so there are no neighborhoods to go around to. Aedan was happy too! He went to the RedBox and got the newest Pokemon movie and watched that and saw his friends come to the door for candy!

Bus Beginnings
This picture is out of order, but I thought is was so cute I had to add it in. This is Harrison adn Joel is on the left and Luke is on the right. Like is his best friend and they all just have such a good time together. They were at the bus beginnings before school started. They had an orientation to show the kindergarteners how to ride the bus. Everyone at the elementary school rides the bus. There are no walkers, so all the kindergarteners were there! fun times!
So this is how little girls play!
So this is how little girls play! I never knew....Ireland and Emrie get to play together quite often because of our date night group, but one day they were playing and I had my smells out and they just sat and smelled and shared....like...ooh this one's good, smell this one! They played like that for quite some time.
Our little Picasso
Lunar Golf
Last week for Family night we decided to spice things up a bit and just go out for a little family fun. the kids have been getting tired of our normal lesson, activity and treat, so we decided to go mini golfing. There was an outdoor course that we tried to go to, but apparently it was too cold for them to be open. Needless to say we had some very upset children, except for Keean. He said he was too tired to go golfing and he didn' t want to go. Well the other children won, and we drove down to Cinncinati to an indoor "lunar" mini golf course. Where everything was under black lights so everything and everyone glowed! Well the ride there Keean fell asleep. We carried him into the mall and sat him on a bench where we could see him and he slept the whole time under those black lights! Aedan and Harrison had a great time while I walked around the mall with Ireland. We carried Keean out to the car and he continued to sleep all the way home. We brought him home, changed his clothes, tucked him in and he stayed asleep for the rest of the night!
The Bon Fire
A couple of weeks ago we went to a friend's house for a bon fire. We went to the back of their property and had chili and hot dogs and roasted marshmallows and we went on a hay ride too! it was a lot of fun. The fire was pretty big adn it got hot really quick. We had to keep scooting back be cause the fire kept getting hotter and hotter. It kind of scared Keean. Jamie is forcing himself to eat a hot dog. We all know how Jamie LOVES hot dogs! It was a fun night.
Hollow tree
Marsh Family Hike
A couple of weeks ago we went "hiking". It was more like a glorified walk throught the trees on a pathway :) but we had a great time. It was enough to get Keean tired. We went around a lake and we saw a lot of trees that went down during the "hurricane" in September. This is one of the trees that went down durning the storm.

Geocaching Event
Cinncinati Reds Game
Aedan and Jamie went to the Cinncinati Reds baseball game in September. Aedan had been asking Jamie all summer to take him to a baseball game, so the last weekend they were playing they got a great price on tickets! Unfortunately, the Reds weren't great this season, or the last several for that matter, but this was also fortunate because they got cheap tickets! Aedan had a blast. Jamie and Aedan even got Reds baseball hats to support the team.
Aedan liked using the binoculars, but by the end of the game they were pretty close to the field so he didn't need them anymore!
Snack Spot!
Labor day weekend
Piet and Sarah, from Iowa came and stayed with us over the Labor day weekend. It was a short visit, but we packed alot of things in. We went out to eat, we went to church, we went swimming, played some rock band and took Piet to the gym with me after a morning run together! We had a lot of fun with them here! I'm gald we have some family that are close distance that we can make weekend trips!
Aedan's birthday
Birthday Party @ the Pool
Aedan's birthdya party was so fun this year. We decided to have a swim party at our neighborhood pool. there were so many boys! Luckily a few parents stayed to socialize and help out. One of their favorite things to do that nights was run and jump into the shallow end of the pool. There were at least six kids jumping in a line. I'm surprised there were no injuries! These boys are actually all Harrison's friends - except the boy in the very back not quite running yet.
Back to School...In November?
Well, we have finally woken up from our two month slumber of no posts....sorry family and friends. But here are the kids on their first day of school. Aedan started first at the beginning of the week. Harrison started a few days after that. He had an orientation day, then a day off and then a regular day of school on Friday. I guess that's just to ease them into going to school. Growing up we would always get out of school early on Fridays. Fridays were great! In Ohio, they get one day a month where they start an hour later than the regular school day. I think, as a kid. I would prefer to get home earlier, but I think my kids like not having to rush out the door in the mornings.

NFL GAME!
Last Night Jamie went to his first ever NFL Football game. As you know Jamie is a big sports fan to say the least so he has always wanted to go to a NFL game. Jamie went with our Friend Paul and his two sons. He was able to get Pre-Season Tickets to the Cincinnati Bengals versus New Orleans Saints. The tickets originally cost $69.00 but he was able to get them for $12.50 plus shipping online due to it being a Pre-Season game. Even though, it was only Pre- Season and the Bengals lost 13-0, Jamie still enjoyed being there. The crowd of 65,000 fans wore all black or Orange. Here are a few pictures from the game!
Here is a picture of the field as they prepare to introduce the Cincinnati Bengals team. Fireworks, Flames, Fans, Load Music and Cheerleaders all contributed to a memorable opening. Next year, Jamie plans on taking Aedan & Harrison. I think the boys might get a kick out of it as well.

Camera Problems
As you can see, we have not posted in a few weeks. I have been pretty busy taking the kids swimming, to the park, swimming, to their friends, and did I mention swimming. If the kids could spend all their free time at the pool they would. Aedan has become a great swimmer ever since our trip to Utah. Seeing his cousins Gavin and Jarron swimming gave him a big push to drop his floaties and swim. He now swims across the pool under water with ease. The big problem with all these activities is that I have not been able to take many pictures to document the events. The new camera that we finally bought after much delimia does not work as well as we would have hoped for. The camera takes double AA batteries and only last a few pictures before dying. It is very frustrating to say the least. Here are a few pictures we have been able to take.

Dayton's Celtic Festival!
Last night for "Date Night" Moniquie & I went with our friends (Paul & Kirsten Allen & Paul's Sister Tommie) to the Celtic Festival in downtown Dayton. It was the first time we had been to the city of Dayton since we have moved here. The Festival was located at the Five River Metro Park. We were able to watch three groups perform. The first & third groups were irish bands that played music while the second group was a local Irish Dancing school that performed traditional dancing numbers. The atmosphere was great and it brought back a lot of memories from our time in Ireland. The food was also surprising good as well. Here are a few of the pictures we took.
24th of July Celebration in Ohio
Yes! We did celebrate the 24th of July in Ohio! The Stake put on a great event at a local park. We arrived early because our Ward's scouts were asked to do the flag ceremony. They had food, games, and great people show up. They were planning on having around 200 people show up for the event but over 375+ showed up. The Stake leaders had to make an emergency run to the store for more meat. The kids loved the event and eat a lot of great food. We played football (catch), tug-a-war, and tag on the jungle gym. They even had a hand cart and let the children do a pioneer walk around the park (while singing).
1 Year Anniversary
Just a short note to state that today is our 1 year mark in Ohio. We arrived last year on the 26th of July in Dayton just in time to sign our documents for our old home in Utah and our new home in Springboro. The year has gone by fast and we have enjoyed it a lot. We could not have asked for a better experience over the first year. The city, neighborhood, ward, and friends our great. If we had family here, we would have everything we need. Lets hope the next few years are just as good as this past one.
Here is a picture of Ireland I just had to post. She was waiting for Church to start and just sat down in the computer room to watch me prepare my lesson.

Harrison's School Program
Harrison is some character. Harrison is getting ready for Kindergarten next month and can't wait for school to start so he can ride the bus to school. I really hope his teacher has a sense of humor or it is going to be a long year for all of us. I already know he is going to be the class clown. Let's just hope he knows when to behave and when to have fun. I found this clip of his Preschool program this past May and thought everyone might get a laugh out of it. I don't think I have to point out which one is Harrison!!!
